About Kaye Cook

Kaye's BIO
Kaye Cook is the president of Cook Consultants (1991) which specializes in educating, motivating and advising clients toward personal and professional excellence during times of career or organizational change.

Her life as an Army brat and Navy spouse has provided an excellent training ground to analyze and experience the effects of change at both individual and organizational levels. One of her main challenges at the beginning of her career was how to sell her experiences in a business world that valued career continuity. She says, "It is nice that functions and core competencies came into vogue during the mid-1990s, because they better describe my life experiences."

Kaye is a Human Resource Management and Development person by her gifts, skills and education. Her competencies include Personal and Professional Development through career counseling/coaching; training and team building; Executive Training, Coaching and Recruiting; and facilitating organizational change through strategic planning, team building and coaching.

She has worked for/with the Private Sector; Non-Profits; County, State and Federal Governments and in the area of Volunteer Management. Additionally, she has started-up and/or run 17 organizations including Cook Consultants, The Military Spouse Business and Professional Association, a bread baking company, a local office for Spouse Employment, a consortium of business owners, a neighborhood group "The Working Women's Night", District Commissioner for USA Girl Scouting in Japan and several community interest groups in the areas of tennis and personal fitness.

She has a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and Development. She is certified in Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (90 hours of Training), MBTI STEP II, and is also nationally certified in the MBTI. She has attended qualifying workshops for the Self-Directed Search, Strong Interest Inventory, FIRO-B, Campbell Interest Skills Survey, and Campbell Organization and Leadership Instruments (24 hours) and William Bridges' Leading Organizational Transistions (32 hours). Additionally she has 185 hours of training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

Now that you've read Kaye's BIO, you might want to compare it to Kaye's LIFELINE (Cook Consultants 1998). Why not put a LIFELINE together for yourself? It's a great tool to help you begin the source document from which you'll create your resume, your 30-Second Commercial and other self-marketing materials.

Kaye's Vision

To trust and listen to my inner being for direction, vision and insight. People are connected with me through training, counseling, coaching, consulting, friendship and family. They feel heard, accepted and loved for being themselves. They move forward in their life closer to their purpose. Through them, I move closer to my purpose. I give myself as much love and attention as I give others.

Kaye's Mission Statement

To train, counsel, coach and consult with individuals and organizations to help them find out who they are, where they are going, and to help them develop and implement a plan to get there.

Kaye's Values

HONESTY/INTEGRITY - Toward others, but always with myself.
HELPING OTHERS - To trust and use their gifts; to love themselves as they are; to always do their best; to work toward balance; to work toward a position of choice.
CREATIVITY - To think out of the box; to laugh and have fun; to risk; to collaborate; to know when to compromise.
KNOWLEDGE - To grow, and grow and grow; talking, listening, reading, workshops/classes, teaching/training, introspection, experiences... even if it is sometimes painful.
